More of You

How great a distance Your love can bridge, O' God It crosses over valleys Fearing not the shadows of my wonderings It travels from mountain peak to mountain peak Drawing me near to the fold; my troubles melt away When my soul is in deep starvation You feed me with Your heavenly food You quench thirst with water from Your well Gratitude fills my heart Saturating it in thankfulness Clothing it in righteousness Providing for it in Your mercy A glimpse into Your kingdom it provides A song of Your heavenly realm Your amazing grace it glorifies Educating my soul in ways unknown Befriending it in its wisdom The longer I see, the more assuredly I face Face the fact that the curtain has been torn The closest I can be is You in me So I plead for You to dwell inside I repent of my dirty filth of sin A mark I bear that could never stain You, O' Perfect one You are always enough to squelch my longing No desire but of You, You leave standing A flame above my head setting me apart The arrival of the Holy Spirit living in my heart It opens my heart even more to Your glory I see Your world, Your creation, Your word more clearly than ever The compound of Your voice, with Your word, and with Your guidance Invoke electricity within me A more profound attraction to Your word A more passionate desire to follow Your ways Longing for Your thoughts A motivation to do Your will So I offer it all I lay me down in sacrifice It's not much, O'God, but You can use me I shout, "Yes!" to Your will Your call I will follow Fear may cause me to tremble But I will be strong knowing You defeat my enemies Knowing You go before me Knowing You are on my side So I dive deep into the depths of darkness I shine a light into the bleak, gray, murky waters I sing of Your amazing grace I gather more warriors for Your fight Together we take up Your armor Our longing to do Your will tanking every other desire Drowning out every fear Reshaping us into the most beautifully scarred, yet perfectly whole people Your people So we press on till our souls fly to You We sing of Your praises till we join the angels We are vessels of Your love until we return home to it We glorify You in our lives so that one day we may do it before Your face
